"Own" a Horse During Your Stay


Ticao Island is part of the Masbate province, an area which is well known for its ranches.

At Ticao Island Resort, you can hire horses for horseback riding on an hourly basis or you can “Own A Horse” for the duration of your stay.

With the “Own A Horse” option, you enjoy unlimited horseback riding and also are able to groom and care for your horse.

The horse comes with a personal guide who is there to assist you with your requirements.

Fish with a Local Fisherman


On Ticao Island you can spend 3 hours on an early morning fishing trip with a local fisherman, who will show you the local way of fishing and share some of the ocean’s secrets with you.

Masbate is the ranch capital of the Philippines. Cowhands on horseback herd cattle across beautiful landscapes. Every year there is the Masbate Rodeo Festival, where cowboys and cowgirls show off their skills within an arena.

Masbate is a mix of different cultures, and locals speak Minasbate, which is a combination of various dialects.

Ticao Island is a quiet unspoilt island with crystal blue waters, white sand and hundreds of coconut trees.

Ticao Island Resort has nine air conditioned beach-front Cabanas made from native materials. The cabanas are set by the island’s pristine white sand beach, and are close to the reception, bar, restaurant, and diving/activity centre.


Diving at Ticao Island


Ticao Island Resort is in the midst of a variety of dive sites. Some, like the Manta Bowl, is the cleaning and feeding station of the Oceanic Manta. The waters are known for being plankton rich with a constant current. This also attracts Whale Sharks, Thresher Sharks, Hammerheads, and Tiger Sharks.

Ticao Island Resort’s Dive Centre is now SSI Accredited.

The dive professionals have PADI and/or SSI certifications. Courses offered include:

Ticao Island Resort is bounded by two small fishing-village communities. The friendly locals will make you welcome, and you can purchase items from their small shops. You should also expect a greeting at some stage from some of the children - perhaps as they head off through the jungle on their way to school.
