The Cordillera Region in the northern part of the Philippines is very famous for its mountainous terrain and spectacular view. It has some of the country’s unique traditions and cultures. The vast natural resources and terrain of the Cordillera Mountain Range makes it a superb mountain biking destination in the Philippines. Everywhere you look is a sight to see.
The mountains of Cordillera is home to many centuries-old rice terraces. Among them is the famous Banaue Rice Terraces, Batad Rice Terraces, Bangaan Rice Terraces, Hapao Rice Terraces, Bacung Rice Terraces, and Tinoc Rice Terraces. Each of these rice terraces is unique in its own right, having been cultivated for centuries by the local people.
Day 1 - Manila to Lagawe, Ifugao
Pick up from your hotel in Manila or Clark. Travel time from Manila to the town of Lagawe is 10 to 12 hours by car. Breakfast and lunch along the way.
Day 2 - Tinoc Rice Terraces and Kiangan Rice Terraces
The town of Tinoc is approximately 40 kms from our starting point, Lagawe. It’s not very popular among travelers because it’s hard to access unlike the other places like Sagada and Banaue. Along the way, we have a chance to see the Kiangan Rice Terraces and its museum. For a short time, we’ll learn a lot about the history of Cordillera, its people, and the rice terraces.

Day 3 - Tinoc to Banaue via Hungduan
The Hungduan Rice Terraces was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995. The two most notable rice terraces here are the Hapao Rice Terraces and the Bacung Rice Terraces that resembles a spider web.

Day 4 - Banaue to Batad
The Banaue Rice Terraces is a 2000-year old terraces amazingly carved by the indigenous people of Ifuga using only the tools available to them that time. The Batad Rice Terraces is probably the most beautiful rice terraces in Ifuga Province.
Distance: 25 km
Trekking: 3 hours of trekking
Day 5 - Batad to Manila
We will leave Batad for Manila early in the morning. This marks the end of the tour. Travel time from Batad to Manila is 10-12 hours. We’ll have lunch along the way.
